The driving force behind Footprints is Tov Mason, a long time veteran of the travel industry, and a passionate, lifelong traveler. In 1985, after completing law school and realizing that he didn't really want to be a lawyer after all, Tov decided to leave a promising law career behind and follow his own love of travel. He then started his own adventure travel company and the day after his call to the bar, he departed for the jungles of Thailand with his first group. He then spent the next several years leading rugged adventure groups through the jungles, mountains and deserts of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
In the early 90's he changed the focus of the company to one that provided adventure travel for seniors, and as the company grew and prospered over the following years, as president, he found himself becoming more of a manager and less of a traveler, and missing the client contact that adds so much value to the job. He then decided to sell the company in 1999 in order to start Footprints, with a commitment toward offering a highly personalized travel experience for a discerning clientele.
Since then, in addition to continuing to travel the globe in search of new travel opportunities, Tov has been involved in every facet of the creation of a broad range of unique travel experiences on every continent, arranging everything from tribal home-stays in Borneo to private opera performances in Russia, while working with an international clientele made up of individuals, families, groups and film production companies.
